Acolyte Ministry

Acolytes contribute to the beauty and reverence of ULCSC church services, as well as carry on the Lutheran traditions by lighting candles on the altar and carrying crosses, the Bible and other symbols to and from the altar during processionals on holidays and holy days and funeral and baptismal services. Generally, age 6 is the optimum age to begin as a junior acolyte; however, there is no age limit. Many youth are in their fifth year of service. The acolyte coordinator for the contemporary music service at 8:30 a.m. on Sundays is Donna Shaw at 329-1699. Joanne Klumpp at 366-7837 is the coordinator for the traditional music service at 11:30 a.m. on Sundays.
